Accommodations
You will be staying in one of the four yurts which are placed on platforms of Portuguese stone, namely "pedras" The yurts are situated between the vineyards and command a view of the valley.Yurts are Mongolian tents with a diameter of 6 meters and a height of 3meters. They are completely original and are still being used by the Mongolians today. Because they are hand-made you will see colorful painted woodwork in the construction. The yurts are cozy and simply furnished with wooden furniture of our own design.
Accommodation is for 2 adults and if required an extra child's bed and/or chair can be arranged with the booking. Radio, television and telephone are not available. For your comfort there is a fridge and an electric kettle. Very good quality beds and anti-allergic cushions, duvets and sheets are all included in the price. Rest assured that you will sleep soundly after breathing the clear mountain air.
The tent can be opened at the top to give a view of the stars from the bed and if necessary a net is available. The nights here are pitch dark with hardly any surrounding lights, so views of the night sky are spectacular. The yurts are very well insulated, therefore cool in the summer and cozy in the autumn and spring.
Would you prefer to camp?
Bring your own tent and set it between the grapevines. Toilets and
showers are newly built in typical Portuguese style and are of course
fitted with every convenience, cleaning takes place twice daily.
Campers are also very welcome but we have no facilities for chemical
toilets.
We are very aware of the environment and warm water is obtained with a
sun panel and our water comes from a well, is tested and approved for
consumption.
